Yeah. You should've seen him last night with the cooking knives, can openers, paring knife (which summarily met it's demise), and, finally, a wrench and hammer.
What do you consider manageable sizes? Next time you find yourself in that dillema, thaw it at least partially in the microwave. If is still frosty you can re-freeze the unused portion or brown it and freeze it already cooked. That way it can be used for another casserole later on.

go to mcdonalds-it's in managable sizes in between buns.
Managable sizes, yes. It's the "ground beef" that I'm doubtful about :-)
