Spring update - in which we make a startling discovery and try a new experiment

Yes, spring has finally come to Michigan. The snow is all gone (I think, although I haven’t checked around any shady corners lately, so maybe I’m just being willfully ignorant). Our heavy curtains are coming down, the windows are becoming unbarricaded, and (guess what!) I even found a deck on our apartment—it had been hiding behind the couch all winter. Our windows are open, coats are put away (although still available), and Christina and I even went for a walk last night wearing sandals!

Ok, so I haven't written with that many exclamation points in a while. Is our excitement showing?

In other news, I am done with my first year of law school - classes, finals, everything. Now I have a week to work on my law review application, and then I start work at the Attorney General's Office and the Treasury Department (as well as a summer class).  I'm looking forward to starting real work again.

Christina is still doing amazing things at Michigan History Magazine (you doubted?), and even found time to help out the parent organization run Michigan History Day a few weeks ago.

Oh, and we're trying our hand at gardening - in window boxes and containers on our newly discovered porch. Many of the seeds we planted are even starting to grow. Since we got married, we've managed to successfully kill (sometimes in rather creative ways) most of the plants we've tried to grow. We're hoping to reverse that trend. Between the strawberries, basil, rosemary, peppers, lettuce, mint, spinach, tomatoes, and sundry flowers, something has to live . . . right?
