In the theological world...

This past week I have managed to uncover lots of theological tidbits that I cannot keep to myself. Hope you enjoy.

--The Pope is considering forgiving Martin Luther.

--The theological disputes surrounding baptism have finally been solved.

--A new hymn has been penned.

--It has finally been established: “Judas, after all, was a Lutheran, not a Methodist.”

--The messiah has come.

--And, last but by no means least, a new translation of the Bible has been published, “guiding students to the hidden treasures of Holy Writ." Some samples:

(Matthew 1) 18 Now the advent of Jesus the Christ was according to this: When
his mother was betrothed to Joseph, she was found with child, immaculately
perceived as the offspring of scientific Being. 19 Then Joseph, being motivated
by goodness, had in mind to divorce her privately and avoid a public disgrace.
20 But while he pondered the matter, a higher logic came to him which revealed
the dream of the senses, namely: "Joseph, you are the son of David; fear not to
take unto you Mary your wife, for that which signaled her perception is an issue
of scientific Being. 21 "And she will bring forth an immaculate idea which you
will call Jesus; for he will save his people from their errors." 22 Now all
this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the
prophet Isaiah, 23 "Behold a young woman will perceive God's own immaculate
child, bringing forth a son, and they will call his nature Emmanuel, which,
being interpreted, means 'God with us.'"

(Matthew 4) 18 Now as Jesus walked by the sea shore of tempestuous Galilee, he
saw the two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew about to cast a snare into
the surging sea of human concepts, for they were at work to discover Mind's
ideas. 19 Then he said, "Come, follow me, and the almighty I-am will make you
discoverers of the scientific man." 20 So they forthwith left their snares and
followed the herald of Truth. 21 And going on from there, he saw two more
brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, advancing their profession in a
ship with Zebedee their father, so he called them. 22 Thereupon they forthwith
left their worldly trade, and the influence of paternal thinking, to follow the
herald of Truth. 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, lecturing in their
synagogues, teaching the Science of Mind, and healing all manner of sickness and
disease among the people.
